This is a basic guide, that should give you a good set of recommendations on what skills to train for in your first weeks or so of EVE. Treat it as a checklist -- if something's listed here, and you don't have it, consider training it, in roughly the priority listed.

The Gooniversity-recommended 60 day plan prepares new Omega pilots to fly a variety of useful ships at the beginning of their career. The plan has a PvP focus that will get you into FuckYouFleet ships while setting you up with good baseline skills for whatever you want to do later in your EVE career. Seriously, nothing will make our enemies rage more than being jammed and disrupted by a week old newbee.
